The students performed a variety of hands-on assignments in the fall to compliment our reading, discussion, and guest lectures. They coded their own AI that could recognize handwritten numbers, the investigated privacy policies, they played games that simulated the experience of training AI, they pitched project ideas to each other, and they each audited an AI of their choice. They even submitted an abstract for consideration in a state-wide academic conference.
